Massage Therapy provides, for the purposes of developing, maintaining, rehabilitating or augmenting physical function, or relieving pain or promoting health, the services of

a) assessment of soft tissue and joints of the body, and
b) treatment and prevention of physical dysfunction, injury, pain and disorders of soft tissue and joints of the body by manipulation, mobilization and other manual methods.

Registered Massage Therapists (RMTs) in British Columbia are health care professionals committed to restoring and maintaining optimal health for their patients. They are educated to assess and treat using techniques such as manual therapy, joint mobilization, hydrotherapy, rehabilitative exercise and patient education. RMT's in BC are regulated under BC’s Health Professions Act and are subject to:

a) CMTBC’s Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics.
b) The requirements of the Health Professions Act and regulations made under the Act.
c) Standards of professional conduct.
d) CMTBC’s quality assurance program, which ensures ongoing professional currency and development.

Like all regulated health professionals, RMTs must practice within their professional scope of practice. For RMTs, this means providing primarily manual, hands-on treatment and assessment in accordance with the definition of “massage therapy” in the Massage Therapists Regulation.

Her main areas of interest are motor vehicle accident injuries, sport performance, first responder care, and prenatal massage. A thorough assessment, focused treatment, and taylored home exercise programs are some of the methods she employs to render lasting results for her patients. Aleesha strives toward genuine compassion and dedication to quality care with her patients.

Born, raised, and married in Salmon Arm, Jen has been in the area for most of her life, raising her kids, playing in the outdoors, and working as a Personal Trainer. Jen enjoys treating clients of all ages, whether it is to enhance active living, promote postural alignment, caring for the care takers, prenatal, relaxation, or working on specific conditions like whiplash and TMJ. She finds herself, most often, meeting a client’s needs by addressing their postural dysfunction and muscular imbalances. She is a firm believer in using assessment to trouble shoot conditions. Recently graduated from Okanagan Valley College of Massage Therapy, Jen is excited for this next chapter.
